Appeal court confirms Nwoye as PDP guber candidate


The Court of Appeal, sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has upturned the Federal High Court ruling of September 17, 2013, which ordered the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to recognise Nicholas Ukachukwu, as the legitimate candidate for the November 16, 2013 governorship election in Anambra State.

2 die of exhaustion at Onitsha Bridge traffic gridlock


Two persons yesterday died on top of the Niger Bridge, Onitsha in Anambra State following a heavy traffic jam on the bridge.
The victims, a middle-aged man and a little child, allegedly died due to exhaustion arising from the long hours spent in their vehicles while trying to cross the Niger Bridge which passage has for some time now remained a nightmare to both transporters and their passengers.

Boko Haram insurgents kill 20, injure 10 in Borno

MAIDUGURI— No fewer than 20 persons were killed yesterday, while 10 others were injured when gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram insurgency group launched an attack on Logomani village in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State.
