Edo LG: PDP carpets Oshiomhole

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described yesterday’s cancellation of council elections in Esan North East Local Government Area by the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission as a rampaging evil and another evidence of rabid desperation by the opposition to truncate the wishes of the people
.A statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, said it was a stunning irony that “ Governor (Adams) Oshiomhole, who is the largest beneficiary of the commitment of President Goodluck Jonathan to one man, one vote is the same man denying his people the benefits of credible elections.

“The candidate of the PDP was obviously leading in almost all the polling booths, even as the state owned media stations described the exercise as hitch free has given a lie to whatever reason the EDSIEC adduced for the cancellation. “This particular case is also revelation into the conduct of the elections in other local government areas of the state, where the ACN used the apparatus of government to intimidate and falsify results.”

The PDP however asked its members and supporters in Edo to remain law-abiding and resist provocations by the agents of Governor Oshiomhole to the contrary.
