Super Eagles preparations for the must-win double header 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches with Congo and South Africa is to effectively take off this morning in Abuja with most of the foreign-based players streaming into camp.
Topmost in the mind of Eagles as they converge on Abuja today is the trip to Point Noire this weekend to take on Congo who snatched maximum points in Calabar Yesterday, Italy-based Ogenyi Onazi, who is expected to play pivotal role in marshalling Eagles midfield during the clash in Congo called ahead of his arrival in Abuja, urging Nigerians not to relent in their prayers for the team to excel.
Onazi, who was expected in Nigeria last night, said Nigerians desirous of the AFCON 2015 ticket must all join hands and pray for success.
“Once I arrive Nigeria, I will go to my father in
the Lord to pray with me, because I want the Nations Cup ticket and I know we
can win in Congo. We must also cooperate and forget past differences to achieve
our aim,” stressed the Lazio player.
Earlier at the weekend in Uyo, some of the home-based players in the 25-man squad listed for the AFCON battles shown brightly to give hope to the Nigerian dream of making the trip to the African football showpiece.
League top scorer, Emem Eduok, proved his mettle once more, nipping the lone goal the home-based Eagles defeated Ghana’s Under-23 Olympic team to lift the maiden Transformation Cup.

player, he immediately ordered Sokari on the plane to Abuja for the remaining

“We have no time for this game (against Congo) and the players know, so all of them must be here early enough for the trip to Congo,” Keshi was quoted by team’s Media Officer, Ben Alaiya to have declared last night.
