The Youth Wing of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), under the aegis of the APGA Greater Tomorrow for Good Governance (AGTGG), has faulted a report that Anambra State Governors Willie Obiano and Rivers State Chibuike Amaechi have been meeting and working to undermine President Goodluck Jonathan.
The group said the purported romance between the governors was untrue.
In
a statement it issued which was made available to LEADERSHIP in Abuja
yesterday, AGTGG said that “no member of APGA at any level is or has
been meeting with or working closely with Governor Amaechi or even his
proxies.”
Spokesman of the group, Comrade Emenike Sunday, who
signed the statement, declared that neither Mr Dozie Nwankwo nor
Governor Obiano, as individuals or in concert with each other, have ever
been with Amaechi in the same political party at any time at all.
“When
Amaechi was in the PDP, Nwankwo was in Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)
and now that Nwankwo has moved on to APGA, Amaechi is in the APC,” he
said
Coming short of calling out some names, Emenike blamed those
he described as ‘political prostitutes’ who have been shuttling from one
political party to the other for all the confusion and sponsorship of
the smear article, adding that Amaechi’s wife had no political
involvement outside Rivers State.
AGTGG, Emenike pointed out, is
set up to foster positive leadership attitude among members and to
mobilize popular support for APGA candidates.
The youth group
fingered some senatorial and House of Representatives aspirants in the
PDP who are jittery “that the revolutionary popularity” of Dozie
Nwankwo, Chief Victor Umeh and Obiano would defeat them, as brains
behind the campaign of calumny.
