In a swift reaction to the statement credited to Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, leader of the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force (NDPVF) that Nigerians should prepare for war come 2015 should President Jonathan be denied the ticket, the northern youths in a reply said, they are battle ready.
This is just as he has been described as a dreamer who is making empty threats that cannot hold water when the chips are down .
The national president of the African Youth for Conflict Resolution (AYCR) Dr. Suleiman Shuaibu Shinkafi, said this in an interview he granted journalists in Kaduna yesterday.
Shinkafi said, “the northern youths are no longer going to tolerate such inciting comments coming from Asari Dokubo and it is totally unacceptable. He is a joker, we have contacted most of our youths in all the states in Nigeria to tell them that the lies this government is telling us is unacceptable.
We want to tell the whole world that we are not afraid of anybody and if it is violence, we are more violent than Asari Dokubo.”
He also disclosed that the northern youths have taken a stand and there will be no going back on it that “we will not vote for President Goodluck Jonathan come 2015 and therefore in his own interest, he should not even make any attempt to vie for the presidency come 2015, because he is going to meet a strong opposition”.
