Arsenal reach ‘preliminary agreement’ to sign £18m striker

Higuain

Arsenal have reached a preliminary agreement to sign Gonzalo Higuain, according to Spanish website, Sport.es.The report suggests the Real Madrid striker will sign a five year deal and the Gunners are to pay €22m (£18.6m) to secure the services of the target in question.  The Argentine ace has been in and out of the Madrid first team this season, starting just 16 La Liga matches this term.

The report suggests the move will only happen if Arsenal secure Champions League football, which is still uncertain as they sit just one point above North London rivals Tottenham with two games remaining.

The clinical striker joined Real Madrid in 2007 after signing on a long-term deal from boyhood club River Plate.
Since his move he has made 187 league appearances for the La Liga giants, scoring an impressive 104 goals.
However, the striker wants regular first team football, something he is not getting at Madrid due to the presence of Karim Benzema.
