Abduljelili Tafawa Balewa And Supporters Denied Presidential Nomination Form As They Storm PDP National Secretariat

A member of the PDP from Bauchi state, Abduljelili Tafawa Balewa who was at the party’s headquarters to pick his presidential nomination form, said he was denied.

This is the second time Balewa will be at the party’s headquarters but this time there was a crowd demanding intra-party justice for their aspirant.

Abduljelili Tafawa Balewa said, "I was told to come back yesterday, that the form was not ready because only one was printed but by yesterday they would have other forms but it wasn’t so. I came back today and actually there is nobody willing to say anything, they knew that the chairman had gone out and told me I needed to see the chairman. You know everything is being placed in ways as to be jumping through hurdles. I love my party, I love my country even more dearly and I am going to do everything I can to rescue this country."

But the PDP national publicity secretary, Olisa Metuh told the Balewa group that forms are available for all aspirants.

Abduljelili Balewa is not the only PDP member denied forms; Professor Akasobu Duke-Abiola a female presidential aspirant has earlier been denied nomination forms.
