Real Madrid ended Barcelona's unbeaten start to the La Liga season
with an emphatic 3-1 victory at the Bernabeu in the first El Clasico of
the season on Saturday.
Neymar gave the visitors
the lead in the fourth minute, drilling a low drive past Iker Casillas
after receiving the ball from Luis Suarez -- the Uruguayan striker
started his first match for the Catalans after serving a four-month ban
for biting at the World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo
equalized for Los Blancos in the 35th minute slotting home from the
penalty spot after Gerard Pique had handled the ball.
The home side carried the
momentum into the second half and took the lead five minutes after the
break when Pepe headed home from a corner before Karim Benzema doubled
the lead finishing off a superb counterattack.
Victory for Carlo
Ancelotti's side sees them move up to second place in the table, one
point behind Barcelona who have 22 points.
