The meeting of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has ended in a stalemate.
UI gathered that both Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state and Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State have withdrawn from the Nigeria Governors Forum chairmanship race.
Following this, the northern governors adopted Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang as their compromise candidate. Jang however rejected the adoption, saying that he is advanced in age.
We had earlier reported that the governors were in a crucial meeting as a prelude to the election of Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum later today.
Meanwhile, the opposition governors are presently meeting at the Lagos State Lodge, in Abuja.
