Prominent politician in Katsina,
Alhaji Aliyu Sani Muhammad has condemned the recent utterances
attributed to a Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, saying violence will
never lead President Goodluck Jonathan to victory in 2015.
Speaking to Daily Trust in Katsina
yesterday, Alhaji Aliyu Sani Muhammad said democracy does not entail
violence and urged the Inspector General of Police to arrest and charge
Dokubo for treason.
Alhaji Aliyu said the utterances of
the Niger Delta militant are treasonable saying he should be charged to
court for that because Nigeria is not a lawless country.
He said, “Few months ago the former
Zamfara State governor, Senator Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura was quizzed by
the police over a statement he made concerning 2015 general election
and therefore Dokubo should not be spared,” stressing that Dokubo’s
utterances are capable of leading the country to chaos and the matter
should not be left uninvestigated by the authorities concerned.
