ANPP,CPC To Dissolve Into APC May 11
The
All Nigerian Peoples Party (ANPP) alongside other opposition parties
will totally dissolve into the newly formed merged political platform,
the All Progressives Congress [APC] by May 11 this year.
ANPP
National Director of Publicity, Comrade Sabo Muhammed, disclosed this
yesterday in Bauchi during the interactive meeting of the party’s
executive committee as part of the winding-up process and successful
dissolution into the merger.
He said after the dissolution of
the opposition parties, the names of the new party and its leaders would
be submitted immediately to the Independent National Electoral
Commission [INEC] for registration. He advocated unity and solidarity
among the members of the merger to enable them accomplish their goal of
ousting the dictatorial government of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP]
in the forthcoming elections.
Muhammed, who warned the merging
parties against selfishness in the nomination of officials, pointed out
that when there is leadership tussle in the platform, it would bring
about factions and crises which would further militate against their
victory come 2015.
The ANPP chieftain therefore urged all the
members of the opposition to discard their previous differences and work
with zeal and patriotism towards the success of the new APC, stressing
that the merger is the only alternative to PDP just as he asserted that
Nigerian masses rely on them to get rid of the 14 year maladministration
of the ruling party.
He asked all the executives of the ANPP
to start preparing handing over notes ahead of the upcoming dissolution
into the new party.
