JUVENTUS ARE CHAMPIONS OF ITALY

Juventus only needed a draw to see off the relegation-strugglers Palermo, and unsurprisingly they didn't disappoint. A second half penalty from Arturo Vidal saw the ten-man bianconeri down the Sicilians, even with Paul Pogba being sent off late in the match.

It was a completely unspectacular first half, looking like if Juventus were

going to seal the Scudetto, they'd do it in a fairly unspectacular fashion. Unable to break down the Palermo defence, they were completely restricted to efforts from distance.

Arturo Vidal went close, Andrea Pirlo fired over and Mirko Vučinić forced a save from Stefano Sorrentino, but Juve never really created a clear-cut chance in the entire half. Palermo were even more uninspiring, and only a curling free-kick by Fabrizio Miccoli caused Gianluigi Buffon to have open his eyes.

That was until early in the second half, when Miccoli went closer than anyone had. His low shot from inside the area was deflected onto the post by Giorgio Chiellini, in a rare chance for the rosanero. Unfortunately for the Sicilians, it wouldn't be a sign of things to come.

Just a few minutes later Vučinić was nudged in the box by Massimo Donati, and a penalty was awarded. Arturo Vidal stepped up to convert, and Juventus had the lead. Needing only a point to seal the title, Palermo had to score twice to stop the bianconeri from sealing the title.

Vučinić could've put the game beyond doubt after he volleyed a stunning Paul Pogba pass goalwards from close-range, though his shot was right at Sorrentino. The ex-Chievo goalkeeper was called into action again on a Vidal shot soon after, with Palermo now facing a black and white barrage.

Despite chances galore Juventus couldn't score again. Their party was slightly dampened by a sending off inside the final ten minutes, when Paul Pogba spat at Salvatore Aronica. It was Juventus' first red card of the entire campaign, and Palermo looked to take advantage.

They took control of possession in the final few minutes, and Alejandro Faurlín should've scored after muscling through on goal in the last minute of stoppage time. Palermo were still scrapping for the point they badly need in their fight against relegation. Unfortunately, Faurlín's shot was poor, and Juve sealed the win, and title. Palermo, meanwhile, drop below Genoa and into the bottom three.
