NATIONAL Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Bamanga
Tukur, yesterday, asked governors elected on the party’s platform, who
have plans to return in 2015 to start campaigns now, if they must win
the election.
Tukur warned the PDP governors against falling prey to the antics of
praise singers, adulators and those he termed grovellers, who would
always be around them.
He spoke to newsmen, yesterday, shortly after a meeting with some
former members of the National Assembly in his residence, noting that
these grovellers had mastered the trick of causing government officials
to derail.
He said: ”Such individuals have been responsible for making public
servants to develop swollen heads and feel bigger than the party.”
President Goodluck Jonathan had, at the last National Executive
Committee, NEC, urged political office holders not to engage in
political activities, but Tukur noted that PDP governors remain the best
with landmark achievements.
According to him, most of the PDP governors have, indeed, been
implementing the party’s manifesto on education, infrastructure,
agriculture, rural development, power generation, transportation,
aviation and others.
