A gubernatorial aspirant in the proposed November election in
Anambra, Dr Ifeanyi Ubah, has denied ever clashing with the factional
Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh.
Ubah, who seeks to carry the party’s flag in the election,
told newsmen in Awka on Wednesday that the purported clash was a figment
of the imagination of mischief makers.
He said there was no misunderstanding between him and Umeh,
saying that the clarification followed insinuations in some quarters
that there was a misunderstanding between them.
He said that no form of campaign of calumny or propaganda would separate him from Umeh.
``The story is not true. I don’t understand why people chose
to play this type of politics. Victor Umeh is a friend and a brother and
we have never had any reason to disagree at any point.
``I know that this is the handiwork of detractors who believe that the only way to play politics is by blackmailing others.
``I wish to urge the people of Anambra to discountenance
such stories because it never happened. I will not be cowed by enemies
of the state who are bent on distracting my agenda and good intentions
for my brothers and sisters.’’ (NAN)
