Barcelona’s four-times World Player of the Year; Lionel
Messi says about former Barcelona coach now Bayern Munich coach Pep
Guardiola that with his presence the squad will be strengthened.
The player who turned 26 lately said this while addressing a press
conference in Senegal as part of a visit to help promote an anti-malaria
campaign after accepting the invitation of Qatar’s Aspire Football
Academy that will distribute thousands of mosquito nets bearing the
image of the Argentina captain to families in rural communities.
“I think Bayern Munich have a great team, they have great players, as
they’ve shown this year, winning everything and with Guardiola they’re
going to be even stronger,” he said.
The former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola will be heading the treble
winners Bayern Munich after he replaced the former Bayern Munich Coach
Jupp Heynckes.
Bayern beat fellow German side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final.
On the treble claim by the German club last season translating to
total domination by Germany in football, the player couldn’t give a
straight but maintained that the German teams actually had a good year
because winning the Champions’ league is not really an easy achievement
for any one club.
Barca’s arch rivals Real Madrid have replaced Coach Jose Mourinho
with Italian Carlo Ancelotti, with the Portuguese returning to former
club Chelsea, making both teams stronger in Messi’s opinion.
“I think the Spanish league is going to be difficult, like every
year, we compete against great teams like Real Madrid, who have great
players. They’ve lost a fantastic manager, but another has arrived –
Ancelotti, who’s great. And I think Mourinho at Chelsea is also going to
do very well because he’s a great coach,” he said.
